Level Sensor functionality, behavior and applications 

A Level Sensor incorporates a Reed Switch in a stem. An external float with a ring magnet inside, passes and actuates the Reed Switch depending on liquid level. 

Actuation principles for Reed Switches also apply to Level Sensors.

Typical applications for Reed Switch based Level Sensors include condensate tank level control in HVAC appliances. 
liquid level controls in white goods such as washing machines and dryers, all kinds of industrial use cases for ink tanks 
in printing machines, lubricant or coolant tanks in CNC mills, marine environment for activating pumps and many more.
